by Thomas Leclercq, Brand Manager China - Belgian Beer CaféTo me, every occasion has its own beer, depending on the mood, the time of the day, the food involved... however, there is one beer I can have at any time of the day: the Tripel Karmeliet! This beer from the Bosteels Brewery close to Antwerp in Belgium offers a great balance between strength and refreshment. While being quite strong at 8,4%ABV, you cannot really feel the alcohol which is nicely balanced by a creamy head and citrus aroma! Really a beer to enjoy on its own on a warm sunny day!
by Nick Robertson, Operations Manager - De RefterRochefort 8 pours smoothly and create's a creamy rich head, it stands very intimidatingly @ 9.2% ABV but upon your first sip she opens up with a full bouquet of flavor and aroma start's with a soft bitterness you would expect but by the finish your taste buds are amazed @ the symphony of flavor that finishes with a fruity smooth roll off the back of your tongue This beer has it all if you haven't tried it you need to, a true Trappist brew.
by Cédric Bourlet, Beer Hunter - Cheers InDefinitely the Cuvee Des Trolls-Cuvee Speciale! I'm fan of strong belgian beers and I do appreciate particularly this one which is crisp and easy to drink. I like aromas of orchard fruits and citrus on the nose, and his notes of green apple and spiced pear. Quiete strong, 7%, but the alcohol is well hidden. To enjoy everyday! ;)
by Leon Mickelson, Brew Master - The Cook The Meet The BrewAs the summer approaches, there is nothing better than a refreshingly hoppy and zesty India Pale Ale. The often controversial boys at Brew Dog have nailed this citrus and tropical fruit flavoured hop bomb which has a great amount of bitterness leaving your palate screaming out for more of the golden tipple to wet the willy! A great beer to grab peoples attention taking along to dinner parties (just be sure to take enough as everyone will want to sample!) - GO GOOD BEER!
by Michael Jordan, Brew Master - Boxing Cat BreweryI find this golden ale to have some fruity notes of apricot along with a mild spicy note. It pours beautifully and has a dense rocky head. The carbonation is elevated and it really helps bring out the fruit and spice notes in the beer. For an 8% ABV beer it is highly drinkable and remarkably fresh. Cheers to the boys in Belgium for this lovely beer!
